Decision, decision, decision.. a lot of decision should be made..
New days will come.. as usual, when the new game begin, there is new rule started too, as the story here. And now, we (Communication Systems student) have asked to take our own path, make our own next decision to choose the courses that we will take for the next semester (Spring 2011). As this is our first spring semester, there is still 1 more mandatory course that should be taken and another 10 selection courses. By default, we are encouraged to take 4 courses (30 ECTS), but it’s still ok to take 1 more course, as long as the total credit that will be taken is not more than 40 ECTS. If there is student that extremely desperate about taking more courses (aka superman), the s/he will need to ask program director, Prof Peter Sjodin to get approval. This period is also special, because we are free to take another free independent course in entrepreneurship, business or economic, as our program coordinator told us:

Subject: [Tcomm_students_ak1] Information about Student card and Room for contemplation
Dear Communication Systems 2010-students,
Now it is time to apply for your courses for next term. This procedure is only open to students who currently have a first time registration (FFG) on the first or third term of a master’s program. E.g. all students from batch 2010 and those from batch 2009 who are enrolled in the second year of their program. You can only apply for your courses during 1st – 15th of November and you need to do the following:
Step 1: Enroll for next term in Daisy. I have attached a document showing exactly how this is done. This is very important to avoid problems in the beginning of next term. (Otherwise you cannot see your ongoing course, schedule etc in Daisy and you will not show up as expected students on the course lists, which means that the teachers cannot find you on their lists).
Step 2: Select your courses in https://www.studera.nu/aw/toAccount.do?lang=en but make sure that you log in using your KTH student log in, not the log in you had when first applying for the program. (At the bottom of the link, chose your university) Further details on how this is done can be found in the student website (after selecting your program): http://www.kth.se/student/studier?l=en_UK&programme=scd-ma. There you can find a “Guide for Students” about how to select the courses in Studera.nu. There has been some minor changes on page 6, and the last version of the guide has not yet been published on the web. I therefore attach it to this e-mail.
More information can also be found at the slides from my presentation today. Peter will soon follow up with slides from the course presentations.
Finally some information about the SSES courses which I also mentioned today. Several students have expressed an interest in the courses offered each year by SSES – Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship. http://www.sses.se/ In most cases, these courses will not count towards your degree but can only be included in your degree certificate as extracurricular course work.
Due to the popularity of these courses you cannot be admitted to the courses through your program coordinator, but must apply through www.studera.nu before November 15th in the same way as you would apply for all your other courses. The courses available in the spring are listed here: http://www.sses.se/education/courses (check the box for spring 2011 and click on filter to get the correct course entries.)

Well.. After spending couple months to think, then got my first-horrible-exam result, and felt how much is 15 ECTS per period / 30 ECTS per semester means (means craziness), talk with friends “what is your choice guys?” (just to guessing who will be my buddy and in the battle field with me), and due the limitation to keep thinking… here are my decisions:
1. Data Links and Local Area Networks [PRIMARY]
This course talk about very basic stuff, go back to layer 2 again. Since the title of the course much more straight forward, I can see how we will be asked to gather so deep into this layer, 7 times a week for 2 months. Well.. I have to take this course, no matter I like it or not :p

2. Wireless and Mobile Network Architectures
I think this is the coolest course in the next semester that I should take. It’s not just because I desperate to learn about mobile communication from my informatics point of view, but also I’m very excited learning about this subject, not just by my self, but with many other international students with diverse background in the most high-mobile-tech place in the world! *lebay

3. Telecom Policies and Regulatory Principles
Ok, don’t need to talk much more about that, I think this course is good for anybody who don’t want to spend the rest of their professional life to do what ever other people asks them to do. This is also good enough as basis for you if you want to sit in managerial position in telecommunication company *hopefully*

4. Network Services and Internet-based Applications
I don’t have any other choice for period 4 other than this course. There is actually 1 more course, Wireless Transmission Techniques, but I must take the Wireless Communication Systems in period 3 before taking that course. And I don’t want to do that because this preliminary course is so not in my field and also there are much more interested course rather than that. So here I’m, with no more choice for the 4th course, then I take this one. Basically, this course talks about developing application for Internet, well… In positive view, I think it will give good experience to me, because at least we will be conducted to working on projects, so I will have more chance to work in the team again, meet with different colleagues from different countries!

5. Entrepreneurship in Developing Countries
This is the most interesting one; I decide to take free course about business and economic. There are many courses are offered to the next semester as the result of cooperation from KTH, SU, Stockholm School of Economic, Karolinska Institute, Konstfack - University College of Art, Crafts and Design that called Stockholm School Of Entrepreneurship. This course is held in Stockholm University (SU) campus, so I will have chance to know how does it feel studying in another place rather than Kista campus, means meeting new students from other major rather than IT nerds :p
This will make students from those different universities be able to take free course from the other university. Free course means, as May-Britt said: the course grade will not be counted in the degree, but only be listed as extracurricular course work. And considering what i read in the course page: "Entrepreneurship can provide wealth in different ways. In this course we challange you to understand entrepreneurship as an efficient tool in tackling the challenges of today, but also to see developing countries as potential markets for any entrepreneurial venture." Waw..seems this will be interested enough, and the course is held at evening too, twice a week, so let's just join!
